Realities of Homosexuality- Part 2

1. The Goal
  • The goal is not "trying not to sin", but rather get closer to God, fall in love with Him more and more everyday.
  • The more we are filled with the Holy Spirit, the less space there is in our hearts for sin.
  • Do not focus on trying to not be attracted to people of the same sex, focus on pursuing a deeper relationship with Christ and He will lovingly do the rest. Matthew 6:25-33, emphasis Mateo 6:33.

2. Sacrifice
  • Abraham was willing to sacrifice his own son for God, knowing that God knew what He was doing.
  • We can also sacrifice our own earthly desires for God knowing that He will take care of the rest.
  • Never lose faith, never lose the hope of healing and freedom.
3. New Eyes
  • Start looking at other people (from both sexes, including exes) from a different perspective, with different eyes, like the sons and daughters of Christ that they are. Just as Jesus looks at them: with pure love without lust or perversion.
  • There are times where we need to leave certain people in the hands of God, while we heal from sin, otherwise either they will bring us back down to the path of sin or vice-versa. Proverbs 3:5-6.

4. Slavery
  • The enemy lies to us to keep us as enslaved to sin. He constantly put thoughts in our head like: "I'm never going to get out of this", "This is who I am and I can't change", "I will never have a healthy and happy relationship with the opposite sex", "Nobody will accept me after everything I have done".
  • Every person that wishes so, can be sanctified with the blood of Jesus Christ to find salvation and eternal life:
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, t
hat whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world,
but to save the world through him.
18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned,
but whoever does not believe stands condemned already
because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world,
but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.
20 Everyone who does evil hates the light,
and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.
21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light,
so that it may be seen plainly that what they
have done has been done in the sight of God.

  • Somebody that does not have homosexual tendencies does not express himself saying: "I am proudly heterosexual!"; in this same way anybody that struggles with homosexuality, his or her identity isn't their sin o sexual preference, their identity lies in Christ.

5. The Wide & the Narrow Path

  • The path that is easy and wide, that is the path were giving up to your earthly desires, for example lust, is the easy way out. This path leads to death and losing everything.
  • The narrow path is hard, in this path we sacrifice a lot but it lead to a fulfilling life, eternity, joy, peace, and love. Matthew 7:13-14
